Beautiful Sunrise From Dhoja Dada Bazar

Dhankuta Dhojedanda, a scenic hill located at the top of Danda Bazaar of Dhankuta District is the second highest hill known after Antu Danda of Illam District and this is a perfect spot to get a view of sunrise and sunset. Dhojedanda is located 29 kilometers away from Dharan and we can reach Danda bazaar via Dharan traveling by buses, jeeps or even on by foot. On the way to Dhojedanda Lies Bhedetaar- one of the most beautiful tourist place. This place is 13 Kilometers away from Dharan and there are many transportation facilities to reach here from Dharan. Dhoja DandaThis place remains cool throughout the year and due to this many national and international tourists come to this place to escape summer. Bhedetar is also famously known as Charles Point. It got this name after this place was visited by British Prince Charles in the year 2040 BS. Bhedetar is 1425 meters above sea level and a view tower was constructed by Dhankuta District Development Committee in the year 2058 B.S., which has made it convenient for all the tourists to get a good look of the valley beneath. To reach Dandabazaar, we need to travel 15 Kilometers passing Dhojedanda passing Dhojedanda, Namje, Kanya Pokhari, Kuibhir, Okhre, Oadare and Lumphajung from Bhedetaar. Then walking uphill for an hour from Danda bazaar, we will reach the peak of Dhojedanda. This hill is situated 2250 meters above sea level. One of the specialties of this hill is that we can watch a breathtaking view of both sunset and sunrise from this very point. A view of beautiful hills which look like it is forming a straight line is the best view one can get from here. Not only this, we can also view the landscape of 16 different districts of Terai and Hilly Region from this point. Even the famous mountain peaks like mount Sagarmatha 8848m, Mount Makalu 8463m, Mount Lhotse 8516m., Mount Kanchanjunga 8586m, Mount Kumbhakarna 7710m, Mount Chamlang 7319m which is located at an altitude of 8000 meters is visible from this very point. Then traveling for another twenty minutes from Danda Bazaar, we can reach Lapchetaar, a beautiful and scenic village. Legends say that this place was inhabitant by Lapche people anciently but they were displaced by a natural disaster. Then other inhabitants of different castes came and resided here. However, there is also a saying that the whole area that spreader from Dandabazaar to Hattisar was a plain area and due to continuous landslides only Lepchetar remained in the end. We can also see a huge banyan tree here but there is no exact assumption as to when and how this tree grew but it is speculated that this tree is around 350 years old and probably one of the biggest tree in Asia Region. Dhojedanda is surrounded by many villages. It has Dandabazaar on its base, Lapchetar and Rajarani on its east, Lumphajung, Okhre and Sellung on its south west side and Begana Gau on its north. There are many musical creations dedicated to this beautiful Dandabazaar and Dhojedanda, most of which are the folk song creation (Lyric) by Ganesh Neupane which is sing by Rajesh Payal Rai and Juna Prasai and music given by Ramkrishna Tripathi.
