    @kaeyreYao2 years ago BarakAllahufeek Br. Paul. Beneficial content and nice variety of topics.💪🏼
    A thought that crossed my mind, if you're planning to invite someone who speaks about "The Problem of Suffering" next time, then I'd maybe suggest:
    "Misotheism" or "Hatred of God"
    Possible subjects included
    --> Origins,
    --> connection to mythology and anthropomorphism
    -->it's spread
    --> influence on culture, scripture, religious groups, prominent theologians/thinkers and general discourse in literature/art/movies or even popular culture
    --> response to it
    as a possible topic and food for thought.
    It seems to be the snake under the carpet that's rarely spoken about in the Dawah context even though it helps to understand the genealogy of many arguments and talking points.

    @Zenigma2172 years ago May Allah SWA guide Bart to Him. He has all the supporting arguments against parts on Christians theology, and why Muslims believe in what they believe in based on the holes in the previous scriptures.
    God , Allah Al Mighty, the Author of the Qu’ ran is not the author of confusion, or inconsistencies or errors.
    No holes or inconsistencies in the Qu’ran.
    No manmade unknown authors like, Mathew, Mark Luke or John. Unknown authors of confusion, errors, inconsistencies. Amazing that God gave humans a brain and ability to reason yet intelligent people with PhDs, MDs, JDs, are not questioning these books like Bart is.
    Thank you Bart for enlightening the many! I pray that Allah, Glory be to Him guides you to Him alone. I know you concern about the poor and suffering, but as Jesus said, the “poor and the meek” will inherit the heaven. This is a short life to the eternal life. This is their tribulation to greater things.
    But for the rest of us the “poor and meek” are a “ test” for to see how grateful are we with all the blessings we been given, are we attached to those blessings or are we going share and care about them?
    Everything is from Him.
    Everything will go back to Him.

    @kamj19692 years ago Alhamdulillah the Quran has no such issues. The Quran truly is the most amazing miracle from God. Listening to this channel you understand how the other scriptures were recorded and it is so obvious that they were the words of people rather than that of God. How can you ever base your faith then on these human accounts when you know they’re full of bias, interpretations, interests and in some cases even deception. But truly guidance only comes from Allah and no other. Bart knows all these stuff about the Bible but chooses not to do the same analysis in the Quran which if he does he would have come to a totally different conclusion. Syukur for the blessing from Allah who guides us to the straight path. ... 1

    @praiseworthy2 years ago Is it not time for those who believe to surrender their hearts to the remembrance of ALLAH (GOD), and to the truth that has come down, and not be like those who were given the Book previously, but time became prolonged for them, so their hearts hardened, and many of them are sinners.

    @preciousgemqs2 years ago Jesus in Islam
    The Islamic belief about Jesus demystifies for us who the real Jesus was. Jesus in Islam was an extraordinary individual, chosen by God as a Prophet and sent to the Jewish people. He never preached that he himself was God or the actual son of God. He was miraculously born without a father, and he performed many amazing miracles such as healing the blind and the lepers and raising the dead – all by God’s permission. Muslims believe that Jesus will return before the day of Judgement to bring justice and peace to the world.  This Islamic belief about Jesus is similar to the belief of some of the early Christians. In the Quran, God addresses the Christians about Jesus in the following way:
    O People of the Book, do not commit excesses in your religion, and do not say anything about God except the truth: the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was nothing more than a messenger of God, His word, directed to Mary and a spirit from Him.  So believe in God and His Messengers and do not speak of a ‘Trinity’– stop [this], that is better for you– God is only one God, He is far above having a son, everything in the heavens and earth belongs to Him and He is the best one to trust.  [4:171]
    Islam is not just another religion. It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.  It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
    “Say, He is God, the One. God—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.” (Quran 112:1-4)
    Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus. Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.

    @XaeeD2 years ago Isn't he just questioning the content of any scripture here? Say you find a manuscript of Isaiah, and it's the actual original autograph: Isaiah himself wrote this text! How you would know that? I don't know, but for the sake of argument. So the text is authentic. The contents of said text, however, is a different matter all together. Let's say Isaiah writes: "Verily, two times two equals five!" Erhman is saying that while the manuscript can be authentic, the contents could be wrong/false/erroneous/untrue. With an obviously flawed utterance like the one I coined, it's easy to judge the veracity of the content of the text, but in many other aspects, it would be much harder to establish whether or not the contents of the text is true. Let's say the historicity checks out, and Isaiah mentions a specific city that we know for certain existed during his time and in his geographical region. Let's say we have archaeological evidence for the existence of that city. Isaiah mentions the city, which gives credence to the veracity of the text, but then he says that in that city, the people used to grow up to 15 meters tall, that their skin was blue, and that they would fly on the backs of dragons. So while there's an element of truth in the text that can be objectively verified, and which gives credence to the text, the other statement is so outlandish that we're forced to dismiss it. Yes the manuscript is authentic, and yes, it contains references to a place we know was real, but other parts of the text are obviously untrue. I wonder what Dr. Erhman is really referring to here. Does he mean any talk about God in general? Because if you're an atheist and a historian, you would immediately conclude that these texts are untrue whenever they mention a supreme being; that you believe doesn't exist. He is probably also referring to the Qur'an as such, although he doesn't specifically mention it in this clip. Sure, we have very old manuscripts of our Holy Book, and some of its contents must be accepted as historically accurate, but this doesn't mean that all of the contents of the Book is true. After all, the Qur'an talks about God, and a sceptic or an atheist doesn't think that God exists, and so whenever these books are referring to God, they are false, and have to be viewed as fantastical; according to that mindset and worldview. Erhman is saying that nomatter how authentic and preserved a text is (including the Qur'an), if it talks about certain things that he himself doesn't believe in, then he considers the contents of that text as untrue. But unlike the examples I mentioned previously, which, at the very least would warrant scepticism, theology is more complicated than those examples. The existence of a Creator cannot be met with the same level of dismissal as logical absurdities, false information, or bizar claims about reality. Wish you would've pressed him a bit on that, Paul, because I'm kinda curious what exactly Dr. Erhman meant by that, and how he approaches this. What are his parameters, why, and which criteria would he himself apply to a text's contents, when trying to figure out how much of that content could be accepted as true. In principle, I kinda agree with what he's saying, but I'm sure there would be much disagreement when zooming in on his thoughts concerning these matters. ... 3

    @stephaneamani64762 years ago "The fact that you have an accurate manuscript is not evidence that what the person said is accurate" ... The same can be concluded regarding the book of the false prophet.
    Although, the evidence supporting the book of Isaiah and by extension the Bible is that what they have foretold, soon or later came to pass with divine accuracy.
