Liberia is, by far, the most densely forested country in West Africa. Liberian communities depend on forests for their survival, from food and medicine to the wood they cook with and use for constructing their houses. Besides providing livelihoods, forests offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion, provide habitat for flora and fauna and help mitigate climate change.
