arabic sweets make orange basbousa at home | its very easy and it's delicious welcome to shattora kitchen Today we are going to make orange basbousa 2 cups of semolina’s flour ½ a cup of sugar. Tsp of grated orange peel ¼ cup of orange juice ½ a cup of butter ½ tsp of baking powder 1 big cup of yogurt 170gm As for the syrup we will need 1 and ½ cup of sugar ¾ cup of orange juice ¾ cup of water and a small lemon that I will use a small amount of its juice That’s all I am going to use for our recipe today , let’s see how we will make it We are going to start with the syrup I will put the 1 and ½ cup of sugar Then add the ¾ cup of orange juice And add ¾ cup of water using same cup Finaly the juice of half a lemon I am going to use the strainer to take out the seeds Then I will put it on the stove while stirring After it starts boiling count 3-4 minutes then add a spoon of butter or fat and turn it off At the mean time I will start making the basbousa dough For the dough we will start by putting the butter or fat to the semonila so it doesn't dry out add ½ cup of butter to the semolina I will keep the rest for the syrup I am doing this step because the semolina has gluten in it and if it touches any liquid It will dry out after baking I will keep the rest for the syrup As you can see now it’s all covered with fat Now I can start adding the rest of the ingredients I will put ½ cup of sugar and I used the same cup for measuring The cup I used for the orange juice is the same one I used for sugar and semolina’s flour Adding ½ tsp of baking powder , mixing them all together After that I start adding the yogurt Then add the ¾ cup of orange juice Then grated orange peel And the orange juice Now it’s ready for baking I will bring a tray size 24cm brushed with butter or fat And start adding the basbousa dough Spread it like so After we had spread it equally on the tray I will put it in the oven in a 180c till it gains a beautiful golden color To do so in order to keep it soft The basbousa tray is ready now as you can see , so is the syrup It’s important to pour it while it’s hot if it got cold reheat it before you take out Now I will pour the syrup on the tray See how it absorbs the syrup right away which is a sign of a successful basbousa After pouring the syrup I cover it for five minutes , this is a very important step I will show how it turned out after that This is the basbousa after five minutes , see how it looks Very soft and moist I will cut it to show you how it looks It is Still hot It’s a little hot but see how soft it is Very soft and taste very delicious And now that I showed you my recipe of orange basbousa I hope that you try it yourself and tell me about it in the comment section don’t forget to like and share the video if you enjoyed it And if you are new to the channel don’t forget to subscribe and activate notification So you can see my latest videos at shattora’s kitchen Bon Appetit Good bye
