@moneytactics96583 years ago I think he killed his self right after he said he was going hiking I think he ended it right away... He had no intention of being brought in alive..
Either way it’s over!!! And it’s really sad all the way around!!! They looked happy and now both dead it’s really sad and upsetting Atleast to me.. Just terrible 😢 and 😞 sad 22 years old and 23 damn it’s just terrible all the way around..

@theamazingtif3 years ago I agree that we have the answer just not the play by play. He didn’t wander in to the woods and die over a credit card. 75

@halfrutter22263 years ago I’m not surprised. He wasn’t a survivalist . He was an outdoorsy hiker type. I hope his notebook reveals some answers. 94

@lauravenables1003 years ago The parents had ALWAYS said where he was. The police said so. It was underwater very soon after til now. No big mystery. 43
  • @
@Macca-zx7gz3 years ago It was about him avoiding life in jail rather than what he'd done.
His whole defence was going to be she was alive when he left & relying on her body not being found.
As soon as the video of the van surfaced, narrowing Gabby's location - he knew it placed the van (and him) right where her body would be found & his chance of creating enough reasonable doubt to convince a jury disappeared.
If it was about Gabby, he'd have done it sooner.
As it is, he sent her family texts to make them think she reached yosemite, drove 3 days back to florida, had a family camping trip, got a lawyer, went on bike rides & got on with life for almost 3 weeks.
I wouldn't even be surprised if he didn't live out there a while before doing it either.

@michelemoneywell87653 years ago One thing Brian could have done, if he truly loved Gabby, is to write a lot in the notebook before he died. It could be a tribute to how wonderful she was, what happened, his sorrow, and how he could no longer live with himself, nor could he live a life without Gabby. I do hope the contents of the notebook are recoverable, and that Brian wrote deep, meaningful things from the heart before dying. I may be hoping too much. ... 8

@heavenlyclouds13373 years ago So strange how parents are silent all this time and now they find the remains??? Weird. Suspicious. 30
  • @
@barbedwire_lace21603 years ago Sorry not sorry for Brian's parents. If they had contacted LE when he came back with the van and no Gabby Brian possibly would be alive now. 14
  • @
@MontanaParra13 years ago Truly sad for both families. This is such a tragic story. I’ve watched this unfold from the beginning & felt this would be the ending. Absolutely heartbreaking. 17
  • @
@cheechie27493 years ago I'm glad they found him. The parents IMO still have blood on their hands by staying quiet. They knew something happened to Gabby yet they ignored her family. Shame on them!!!! No matter what they did or didnt know, they owed her family some kind of compassion at the very least. ... 37
  • @
@Blucamels3 years ago So clearly Brian needed help, he was clearly troubled and unable to control his temper, killed the love of his life and wandered off to his own demise. Possibly he had threatened to kill himself and it is possible or should I say evident therefore that his parents knew what he had done all along. I am sad of course for his family yet if my thoughts are correct his parents knowingly withheld the truth from Gabbys family. A truly sad tragic story. ... 33
  • @
@MontanaParra13 years ago So sad, no matter how this is viewed. I’ve watched this unfold from the beginning and felt this would be the likely ending. Devastating for both families. Just tragic no matter what point of view we look at it from. It’s heartbreaking in every way. ... 57

@ToysRUsKid763 years ago What I don't understand is how the cadaver dogs didn't find him. I heard a cadaver dog expert talk today and even if he was under water they would have found him. It was really interesting. 55

@ehzimmer3 years ago Thanks for covering this tragic case; I am relieved it's over now. I'd be interested in hearing your analysis of why this case gripped the attention of so many strangers. @purplesky30533 years ago Thank you for examining this case Nick! This tragic case has really garnered attention from so many here in the USA and abroad for so many reasons. There are no winners but by examining the possible psychology and state of mind of Gabby and Brian, we may understand the motivations and fragility reflected in ourselves. ... 5

@oceanangel25153 years ago Condolences to both families this is horrific and if he did kill her he's taken a beautiful light 🕯️ Gabrielle Gabby Petito from the world. He's torn her family's heart to pieces and hurt his own family I'm sure very deeply having to come to grips with knowing what he did and the loss of their child too. Very sad. We love you Gabby ✨🦋✨💙✨🙏✨🌈✨🕊️✨Rest in Peace sweet heart. ... 29
  • @
@chiaraA.3 years ago The parents probably knew where he was camping out all along and were in contact via a burner phone. They probably stopped hearing from him at some point. But that’s why they knew where to look once the area was open to the public and they went straight there. He was no survivalist and probably a momma’s boy ... 43
  • @
@snowbunny10663 years ago Feel bad cause Gabby's family will never get answers. I just find it odd the parents found his things in a few minutes next thing he is dead. This case just stinks all the way around. 35
  • @
@Radagast-3 years ago The fascination (if that is the right word), of these cases lies not in the outcome, but in piecing together the snippets of information that leak out in order to construct a coherent whole.
Sifting through the speculation and oftentimes fanciful theorizing is part of the process. First a timeline, then maybe an attempt at understanding the character of the players, and even a stab at solving the puzzle.
And then things play out, and are inevitably anticlimactic. And so it is, here...
It seems that Laundrie was not a monster... just a f***ed up individual who blew possibly the only good thing that had ever happened to him, probably because he didn't feel he deserved her. And then he couldn't live with himself.

@jawja80553 years ago I don't think Brian would do a true account in his notebook right away. That is sad, you would hope he would have gotten some insight into himself before his death. Tragic story 40
  • @
@ourcrazyfamily13043 years ago I find the whole this suspicious. The area had been searched for a MONTH, including by dogs that can detect human remains in animal feces...his parents never volunteered to search for their son, till yesterday and basically made a beeline to his backpack, where the remains where found..... ... 6

@TeamBTC173 years ago This is the best channel for not sensationalising this case. You give balance and reason to the issues and have earned yourself a loyal follower. />This is the first comment thread I’ve seen where people are not making this young man a monster.
Honestly I don’t think he could have come forward he was tried and convicted based on body cam footage and tabloid media. If he did take his own life then I suspect he was unwell.
I think both of them were disturbed. My heart hurts for both families but I have been horrified by some of the celebrations taking place on hearing he is dead.
    We are better than this.

@kellyb14203 years ago Parents still piss me off! Maybe Brian wouldn’t be dead ☠️ right now if his parents did the right thing from the very beginning? To come forward and tell the truth!
Maybe Brian wouldn’t of killed Gabby if his parents actually raised him right and to never ever touch or hit a women! Hold him accountable for acting like a spoiled brat!🤨

@ladybridey85593 years ago I send my heart and spirit to Gabby’s family. You will have the comfort of what she was and what she would have been. I hug my grandchildren for her and help them to try and understand how this could happen. Your stand on domestic violence will keep Gabby’s spirit alive and my beloved girls more aware. With memory, comes immortality regardless of religious beliefs.
I also pray for the Laundries. They too, are a family who has lost a loved one. Their memories will be different and, in my humble opinion, more complicated. It is my genuine hope that if they find that those memories makes too difficult to move forward, they find a really good therapist. You have a God given right to live and be well and I have no right to judge you.
Two young people have died. Unlike Fight Club where everything is destroyed, let us all learn in the here and now how to survive with our humanity intact.
Someone smart once said: “Desperate people do desperate things”.
And as always, thanks to Nick and his humanity.

@WANNAWATCHIT1003 years ago I don't understand why people have trouble believing Brian's really dead. I have felt he was dead within 24 hrs of him leaving his house. I think Brian and Gabby truly did love each other. They were together 24/7 which caused a lot of arguing. I don't believe Brian was a Psychopath, I just think he had a bad temper. I think he strangled her, not particularly wanting her to die, but his temper was out of control. I think he came home, to in a sense say goodbye to his family and then went and killed himself. I think he killed himself, because he didn't want to go on without Gabby. Many people in this country have Horrible tempers and bad things can be the result of that. This country needs to do something about having better mental health care. If they don't, people will continue to die. Sad all the way around :( ... 9

@emmaevans70113 years ago I think Brian walked off to die. Consciously or not, he must have been deeply depressed with no future, and Gabby gone. 55
  • @
@DAISYROSE223 years ago The location of the partial skeletal remains were inside the park entrance, within a mile of the entrance, in an area that had been under water for the last 4 weeks. It was just re-opened to the public a day before the Laundries - and FBI and authorities - came to the Reserve. ... 1

@hannahzander95413 years ago BL probably wouldn't have told the whole story. Maybe he was planning this murder-suicide all along.

@Angie-pl3uw3 years ago I hear people chanting "Justice for Gabby". Why does the public want justice? None of us knew Gabby. She was not even a frequent contributor on social media. We would not have been able to pick her out of a line-up without having seen her pictures. Let the dead lie in peace. Let us have compassion and empathy for all families involved. Let us make sure that our chant is NOT "we want blood. ". This is America. ... 2
  • @
@anonamasnoname90983 years ago I cant see that all these people would have believed what Brian would have said about what happened to Gabby anyway. 2
  • @
@lotusflowerinbloom3 years ago After finding out the ending to Lullaby, the book Brian was reading, early on, I said to someone, if they find him dead in the reserve my best guess is he was trying to live out the ending. I think he thought no one would find Gabby or him and that would be a satisfying ending to him. He was definitely messed up in the head. I think it’s a warning to young people to not get mixed up in fantasy vs reality. Poor Gabby fantasized about an epic life and Brian fantasized about an epic end. ... 2
  • @
@joelkeane31603 years ago I picked this in the very early days. Thought it was very clear. A guy like Brian was never going to avoid a nation of law enforcement.
  • @
@heatherwhatever77143 years ago I’m glad he will not be cornered and harm anyone else. Also, I was concerned about the case against him and the potential for them pursuing a lessor charge. That wouldn’t have felt like justice either. 3
  • @
@SigMaQuint3 years ago Thank you for your comments. In all the trashing of Brian, we seem to forget that Gabby actually loved him, the way she felt it.

@cheriemartin37373 years ago Reeks of psyop. Now we understand the point of that self-congratulatory police press conference today for a job well done--they already knew it was Brian's remains. @thejanetflights73963 years ago I really enjoy the depth of your photo choice and placement, especially the final shot of Brian as a more overweight teen and then his parents, who have a very similar body type. @yellowswallowtail333 years ago Agree with your comment about not getting information and the truth about what really happened to Gabby now. If you are still alive and were caught and we're caught and went to trial, We wouldn't get the truth then either. We didn't get even close to the truth from Chris Watts and many other highly publicized cases. If he chose to take his life because he couldn't face the consequences of what he (allegedly: only for the purpose of it not being decided by the law that he did it when I and majority feeling he did)
did to Gabby then I highly doubt he would let his mask and ego be tainted by writing down in his book a confession and details of that day. His parents, if he confessed to them, won't be giving Gabby's family that blessing of knowing either...look how they've acted the entire time...emotionless and cruel.

@danparker50213 years ago Its not "Romeo and Juliet"-
    Shakespeare but it is similar.
Two young ones in love ,
who 's families did not like each other. The young lovesick couple ends up both dead through a misunderstanding . Gabby and Brain. also a lovesick couple both dead ,This is a
TRAGEDY , all around .Even Gabbys Mom felt Brain would take care of Gabby, and how that must burden her deeply.
The Van Life great idea , escape even in the middle of covid .Daily reports and pictures
giving many people throughout the world a brighter day ! They were doing this business on their own without having a business plan , each hoplig their love would get them through.
Which way would the on -line business go / and how fast .
They had bad fights at home, reported . Even him choking her out one time . Their normal fights could sometimes escalate
and. go physical . The Van was now a 24 / 7 cage . Anxiety probally high . Brain would sometimes have a bad temper.
But he could control it if he
had to ( police video foitage,
Van stop ). Not long after the Van stop they probally had a fight that escalated abd she did not survive . Many people blame themselves about this . THE THING IS DON"T HIT AND CHOKE YOU GIRLFRIEND OR WIFE ! Now you have a dead
Lifetime Partner. You can"t do a redo or take - back. This is real life . And there are those who will slice and dice itl,
    Psycoanalyze it Etc.
So Brain probally comming to terms of what happened.
    Still a TRADEGY for many
